  16. Some aspects of the BOOTP protocol were rather loosely defined in its
  17. original specification.  In particular, only a general description was
  18. provided for the behavior of "BOOTP relay agents" (originally called
  19. BOOTP forwarding agents").  The client behavior description also
  20. suffered in certain ways.  This memo attempts to clarify and
  21. strengthen the specification in these areas.  This RFC is the product
  22. of the Dynamic Host Configuration Working Group of the IETF.
  23.  
  24. This is now a Proposed Standard Protocol.
  25.  
  26. This RFC specifies an Internet standards track protocol for the
  27. Internet community, and requests discussion and suggestions for
  28. improvements.  Please refer to the current edition of the "Internet
  29. Official Protocol Standards" for the standardization state and status
  30. of this protocol.  Distribution of this memo is unlimited.
